If you've been wondering why I'm not posting much over the last couple of weeks, here's why.
1. Meetings.
Meetings, meetings, meetings. Tonight was my 8th in the last six weeks or so. Doesn't sound like much, but most of them are long and have required extra work either before or after. They have been productive, so this is no complaint. And tonight was the last one for a few weeks. But they do affect my schedule.
2. Sickness.
See the post from two weeks ago.
3. Christmas.
Shopping and packing (and next week, traveling) has also eaten up time - more for Holly than myself, but while she's doing the shopping, guess who's watching the kids? Add to that family pictures (Monday night).
4. Computer crash.
Yep. My laptop died this week. Or, more accurately, is still in the thrashings of death. It starts about 1 out of every 20 attempts. I've gotten it into Safe Mode two or three times and all the way up and running once. That's been enough to get most of my files on to an external hard drive. But I've spent way too much time on it and it has thrown my work (and sleep!) rhythms off terribly. We do have a home computer, which I'm on now - but since I don't have access to it throughout the day, blogging is not as convenient.
So, those are my excuses. I'm not finished with the Great Johns of the Faith series and plan to continue those - but don't expect much till after Christmas.
In the meantime, check out this new blog by one of my friends, called Unbreakable Joy.
[NOTE: I'm not pointing you to this site because he made a plug for one of my sermons. He's a good friend with a real passion for God and a gift for letting that passion out in writing.]
Sorry about the laptop. I feel sick just thinking about it. I'm glad the LORD allowed you to get it up and running long enough to archive.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the laptop...that really stinks! however I did just read online that apparently CompUSA is closing all their stores after Christmas and that they have been running lots of sales... so if you are thinking of buying a new one...might wanna check them out!
