Since I'm currently doing a series of messages on Rediscovering the Church, I'm also doing some fresh reading on the doctrine of the church. Here are three books that I've either read or am reading, all of which make good contributions to the vast amount of literature out there on the church.

There was a little bit of a criticism scuffle between John MacArthur and the author of Church Planter. Heard about it?
Yeah, Johnny-Mac misinterpreted Patrick. But Patrick responded very graciously, so it's all settled down now.
Let me say I am reading Christ Formed In You slower than I thought. I am little half way through it and I think it is the best book hands down on sanctification that I have ever read. Thank you Brian.
